Alan Rogers Review
A peaceful haven in Thomas Hardy country, Sandyholme provides 55 holiday homes (privately owned or for hire) and 50 numbered pitches for touring units (with 10A electricity) on level, short grass fields with one corner lightly wooded. The next door field is operated by the local farmer on a 28 day licence and can be used for tents or rallies. An unusual feature is a rather special duck pond with an amazing variety of ducks from all over the world with a pleasant walk and seats around the edge (an electric fence keeps the foxes at bay).
There are walks and cycle routes direct from the site or in Puddletown and Wareham Forests, or along the coastal path. Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Weymouth, with its sandy beach, Monkey World and The Tank Museum, are all within easy reach.
