Boltenhagen is a seaside resort on the Baltic Sea coast east of Lübeck. The site has direct access (500 m.) to a long stretch of a wide, sandy beach. It is a large site with 422 pitches and is divided into two sections: one has 81 Scandinavian-style chalets for hire, the other is largely devoted to caravans and teepees to rent, and there are 86 pitches (with 10A Europlug) for tourers, divided over three grassy areas. Those at the front of the site have shade from mature trees, while two fields at the back are more open. A boardwalk along the shore takes you to restaurants and health spas. A marina with a fishing harbour has hotels and private beaches overlooking the vast Wohlenberger Wiek, a shallow bay between Boltenhagen and Wismar.

West of the town along the coast lies the picturesque little castle of Gross-Schwansee, recently refurbished and converted into a luxury hotel. To the south, Schloss Bothmer, a remarkable Tudor-style castle in the nearby village of Klütz, is open to visitors. Nearby is the Tarnewitzer forest, mixed woods of alder, poplar, oak and old pine trees. The historic port of Lübeck, the second-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, is an easy drive to the west and offers a wide choice of shops, bars, restaurants, clubs and discos.

Location

Boltenhagen is 45 km. northeast of Lübeck. From A20 Lübeck/Rostock motorway, take exit 6 (Grevesmühlen) and head north on LO3/B105 following signs to Boltenhagen. Site is to east of resort in 1.3 km.
