Alan Rogers Review

Although there is a large number of privately owned holiday homes at Quex, they do not intrude on the touring area which is in a sheltered glade under tall trees. Here, there are 40 shady touring pitches all with 10A electricity. This park accepts trailer tents but not other tent campers. This is an attractive and well maintained park. As with the other parks in the Keat Farm group, there is a strong commitment to conservation here. ‘Bugingham Palace’ and other such insect houses are a fascinating feature on the park. Local attractions include Quex House and gardens and, of course, the popular seaside resorts of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs.

Reception provides a good selection of tourist information and can provide a map of the local area. Quex House is the home of the Powell-Cotton family and houses an extraordinary museum with a collection of treasures from around the world. There are also 15 acres of beautiful gardens. Margate is close at hand and is a lively resort now undergoing something of a revival with the Turner Contemporary gallery and the recently reopened Dreamland Amusement park.
