Alan Rogers Review

Penrhos is a busy classical Caravan Club Site in a parkland setting in the beautiful and peaceful countryside on the island of Anglesey, yet only two miles from the small seaside resort of Benllech. The site is on a hillside surrounded by trees, though most pitches have little shade. There are 89 good sized, slightly sloping pitches, all for touring and with 16A electricity. Fifty-two pitches are on hardstandings and 32 are on grass. Tents are not accepted here. Advanced booking is advised, particularly for those with large outfits.

Anglesey has much to offer holidaymakers, with interesting towns and villages with their castles, museums, gardens, zoos, adventure parks and nature reserves. Just across the Menai Strait is the Snowdonia National Park, home to Britain’s only rack-and-pinion railway, taking visitors to the summit in style. For the more hardy, the summit can be reached on foot. It is possible to explore the famous castles of Harlech, Caernarfon and Penrhyn. The area is also famous for its beautiful gardens, and railway enthusiasts will enjoy the great little trains of Wales.
