Camping Praia da Tocha is open all year round. The site can be found west of Coimbra and the smaller town of Tocha, and close to an attractive beach of fine sand. Pitches here are of a reasonable size and many have electrical connections. A number of mobile homes and chalets are available to rent. Most pitches are well shaded. On-site amenities include a shop, bar and restaurant (all open June to September). The site becomes livelier in peak season with regular evening entertainment and a children’s club.

Nearby, Coimbra is a fascinating city which was formerly capital of Portugal in the 12th century. It is also home to a university which also dates back to the 12th century and is one of the oldest in Europe. Much of the city’s fine architecture is linked to the university. Coimbra also boasts some of Portugal’s finest parks and gardens and its university gardens are also amongst the oldest in the world. The coast here is ideal for surfing and all other watersports.

Directions to Parque de Campismo Municipal da Praia da Tocha

Approaching from the north (Porto) on A17 motorway take the Tocha exit (number 10). Follow signs to Tocha and then head west on N335 to Praia da Tocha. Then follow signs to the site.
