Alan Rogers Review
This family owned, five-acre park is located on a former farm between Thirsk and Northallerton, in the Vale of York. It is ideally placed for visiting the Yorkshire moors and dales, along with local market towns, theme parks and stately homes. Predominantly, it is a flat grass site with gravel hardstandings for 30 touring pitches, with a separate paddock for a further 28 pitches, all with 16A electricity. Privately-owned lodges and static caravans are located in an adjoining park, separated from the touring units by an old, well established, tall hedge. They also have a few camping pods for those who like to glamp.
A family oriented park, there is a playground and grassy play areas for children. The owners have supplied good tourist information and local nature walks for visitors. There is coarse fishing in a well stocked, spring fed, one-acre lake located 200 m. from the site. The main London-Edinburgh railway line runs along one side of the holiday lodge and static park, so some minor train noise may be experienced.
One purpose built, clean block in a heated building. Unisex en-suite style shower rooms with free showers. Facilities for disabled visitors. Family bathroom with a baby area. Laundry. Drinks/snacks vending machines in reception. Play area. WiFi throughout (charged).
