Alan Rogers Review

Sitting high among the rolling meadows of a working farm, in the Lammertal Valley is this small, friendly site which has breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It has a total of 70 pitches, of which 40 are for touring units. All are set on flat gravel and grass terraces and have 10A electricity (2-pin sockets) and drainage, with water nearby. The small fenced swimming pool (10x5 m) is unheated and has paved surrounds. The site has exemplary sanitary facilities, and together with its rural location, dramatic views and friendly atmosphere is a good site for those seeking some peace and quiet.

Leaving the bustle of Salzburg and the motorway, the drive from Golling to Oberwötzlhof is a scenic treat in itself and is a fitting prelude to a stress-free break in the real Austria. Places to visit should include Postalm, real alpine meadow country with some excellent walking (brochure from reception). There are many opportunities for rafting, hydrospeeding, canyoning, paragliding and mountain biking in the area and, of course, skilaufen and downhill skiing in winter. No English is spoken.
