Alan Rogers Review
Set most attractively in a four-acre valley, yet close to Oban with all its facilities and local attractions, this park has just 45 pitches with 12 hardstandings, 34 electrical connections (10A) and plenty of space. Tents are placed mainly on a higher back terrace. There is no shop or bar on site, but it is possible to walk to town in around 30 minutes, or there is a taxi service. The single track road leading to the park has few passing places, so it is only suitable for smaller units.
A small stream runs through the park, with several types of young eucalyptus and bamboo growing and fuchsias planted along one side at the entrance. Some 60 tons of stone have been sympathetically used to enhance its general appearance. Local attractions include the Oban distillery, the island of Kerrera for walking, cruises to lochs and islands, plus many more.
Toilet facilities are provided in one block at the far end of the site (lights on a timer). Laundry with drying rooms. Shower and WC for disabled visitors. Motorcaravan services. Small shop at reception with gas. Covered barbecue and eating area. Play items on gravel (those with children can pitch close by). Bunk room for groups, a self-contained bothy and a chalet to rent. WiFi (charged).
