Alan Rogers Review

On a semi-promontory on the shores of the 40 km. long Byglandsfjord, Neset is a well run, friendly site ideal for spending a few active days, or as a short stop en route north from the ferry port of Kristiansand (from England or Denmark). Neset is situated on well kept, grassy meadows by the lake shore, with water on three sides and the road on the fourth. There are 260 unmarked pitches with electricity and cable TV, and 40 hardstandings for motorcaravans. The main building houses reception, a small shop and a restaurant with fine views over the water.

The campsite has a range of activities to keep you busy, and the excellent hardstandings for motorcaravans look out onto the lake. Byglandsfjord offers good fishing (mainly trout) and the area has marked trails for cycling, riding or walking in an area famous for its minerals. Samples of these can be found in reception, and day trips to specialist exhibitions at the Mineralparken (8 km) are possible. Walking and cycling routes abound and cycles and mountain bikes can be hired from Neset.
