Alan Rogers Review
This is a quiet and friendly community site which borders the river Neckar on the outskirts of the old and attractive university town of Tübingen. The old town is well worth a visit and is only 1.5 kilometres from the site, most easily reached using a tunnel for pedestrians and cyclists. There are 97 pitches with 65 for touring units. Open, level and grassed, there is ample shade provided by mature trees. All pitches have electricity, mostly 16A. Adjoining the small friendly reception, where tourist information is available, is a shop selling essentials (bread to order).
A touch of local flair is provided by the small bar/restaurant, behind reception, serving local specialities and beers. Tübingen is an old university town with medieval buildings, narrow cobbled alleys and a wonderful town hall – it is a must to visit. In addition, there are botanical gardens, punt trips and numerous houses in the town to be explored. In the region the Bebenhausen Monastery and the beautifully situated Castle Hohenzollern are well worth visiting.
One sanitary building provides all the usual facilities. All hot water is free and the showers are controllable. Two facilities for disabled visitors. Kitchen with hotplates (meter). Laundry room with washing machine, dryer and baby changing area. Motorcaravan service area. Shop. Bar/restaurant. Bicycle hire. Play area. WiFi (free).
