Alan Rogers Review
Mother Ivey’s Bay has a wonderful cliff top location with amazing sea views and its own sandy beach. It is a well established family park located to the west of Padstow and features low, Cornish walls and colourful displays of plants. The site has been owned by the Langmaid family for over 20 years and is extremely well cared for and maintained. One hundred grassy touring pitches are in two well tended fields with 16A electricity, one slightly sloping, with a further field for 100 in high season. Ten super pitches are also available with electricity, water and drainage. There are some 100 attractively arranged, privately owned mobile homes, with a further 58 available to rent. On-site amenities include a well stocked shop and a children’s adventure playground, but the emphasis is on peace and quiet, so there is no bar or restaurant.
The amazing beach in its own cliff edge cove, approached via wooden steps, is rather special. It has an almost Mediterranean feel. Padstow needs little introduction and is a delightful fishing village and holiday centre, and more recently has become renowned for its gastronomy. The Obby Oss May Day celebrations are well worth seeing with origins dating back centuries. The South West Coastal Path crosses from Padstow to Rock, using the Black Tor ferry, and offers miles of magnificent coastal walking.
Two clean toilet blocks have all necessary facilities, including preset showers and open washbasins. Six family shower rooms. Accessible sanitary facilities. Large laundry room. Licensed shop sells fresh bread. Sandy beach. Adventure playground. Mobile homes and chalets to rent. WiFi (charged).
Follow the A30 dual carriageway to Indian Queens. Follow signs firstly towards Wadebridge (A39), then Padstow (B3274). After 3 miles, turn left towards St Merryn. Follow signs to Trevose Golf Club and then Mother Ivey’s Bay.Link to campsite location map on google
