Alan Rogers Review
This quiet, secluded park is a lovely spot to relax or to use as a base for touring the Lincolnshire countryside. Jane and Nigel Stevens work hard to make it a pleasant place to stay and have a well laid out park offering good quality facilities that are kept clean and tidy. The park offers 36 pitches (17 occupied by seasonal vans) with 10A electricity hook-ups and a field for tents and small rallies. Some hardstandings are available. The park is on the edge of the village of Folkingham with a pub (serving food), a shop selling an amazing range of produce and an artisan chocolate shop.
There are some pleasant walks around the village, which is set in attractive Lincolnshire countryside. A good range of shops and several large supermarkets are to be found just down the road in Bourne, and nearby Grimsthorpe Castle and Bourne Woods are both worth a visit in their contrasting ways. Near the market town of Grantham are the National Trust properties of Belton House, with its extensive grounds, and Woolsthorpe Manor, home of Sir Isaac Newton. Sleaford, Lincoln and Peterborough are other possible destinations for days out. To the north of Sleaford are the WWII air bases, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. Watersports enthusiasts and nature-lovers will enjoy a visit to Rutland Water and birdwatchers could take a boat trip out into the Wash from Boston. For a day at the seaside, Skegness is within easy reach.
Central, well maintained toilet block with controllable free showers and open style washbasins. Washing machine. Reception is at the owners’ house and a tourist information room with toilets is adjacent. Large field where children can play (also sometimes used by tent campers).
