Alan Rogers Review
This delightful, small, family run park is set in the countryside but is still close to the city of Edinburgh. The park is level and the 60 large touring pitches are a mixture of grass and hardstanding; 49 have 16A electricity connections. Parts of the park are screened off by trees and fences. Two sides are sheltered by trees and shrubs and one side is open with views over fields. With just the occasional sound of aircraft from the airport, it is difficult to believe that you are so close to a major city. Linwater is a useful park for visiting Edinburgh and areas outside the city.
The reception area has a wealth of information on places to visit. Just four miles down the road is a park and ride scheme and the purchase of a Day Saver ticket is a cheap way to get into Edinburgh and to explore the area. The Falkirk Wheel, houses, castles and gardens are all within easy reach.
The modern and well maintained heated sanitary block has private cabins. Facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Milk, bread and newspapers to order (by 21.00 for the next morning). Home produced free range eggs and bacon from reception. Sand pit. Four timber tents for hire. One new self catering lodge. Free WiFi in reception area.
