Alan Rogers Review
Situated in a wooded valley, 6 km. from Mirande, this 40-hectare site is in the heart of the Gascony countryside. With its fishing and boating lake and a swimming pool, it has 30 Romany-style caravans, purpose built to a high standard. These are installed on a hillside overlooking the complex. These roulottes sleep five people and provide a living area with a table, heater, fridge, two-ring electric cooker and a microwave, plus a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. All linen and crockery is provided. Outside there are a table and chairs and a barbecue. The whole site is run ecologically in tune with the surroundings. The hills around are full of the Arab horses that are bred by the owners. The area is alive with activities such as the world-famous Jazz festival at nearby Marciac. This is the land of d’Artagnan, Armagnac and foie gras. Two of the units are adapted for disabled visitors.
Snack bar/restaurant. Sauna, jacuzzi. Playroom for toddlers. Small library (English, French and Dutch). Hire of small boats on the lake. Bicycle hire. Pony rides (3-8 yrs). Fishing (rods loaned). Canoeing.
