Camping du Lac is a municipal site on the shores of the massive Etang de Biscarrosse, one of the largest lakes in France. The site has direct access to a sandy beach, as well as its own swimming pool. The nearest Atlantic beach is at Mimizan-Plage, around 15 minutes away by car. There are 127 touring pitches here. These are generally grassy and with shade. All pitches have electrical connections (10A). A small marina, complete with slipway, is available to site users. In high season, various activities are available on the lake, including windsurfing, boat rental and water-skiing.

There are miles of excellent cycle tracks through the forest and along the lakeside; cycle hire is available on site. To the south, Mimizan is a pleasant resort with all the usual facilities, and was developed during the Belle Epoque, thanks to its rail connection (which no longer exists). In common with many towns in Les Landes, the town is divided into two distinct areas. The town centre (Bourg) and resort area (Mimizan-Plage). These are several kilometres apart.

Approaching from the north (Bordeaux), take exit 17 D43 towards Parentis-en-Born. Then D652 towards Gastes, site is then signed.
