Alan Rogers Review
Landguard is a peaceful haven just five minutes walk from Shanklin. Owned by Park Resorts, the park combines caravan holiday homes (in a separate part) and a neat touring area. There are 154 flat, grass pitches, including ten hardstanding, fully serviced pitches, and all have 10A electricity. These are set among many trees providing shade. A short walk into the holiday home complex enables touring guests to use the indoor and outdoor heated pools. Here there is also a bar, restaurant, entertainment in high season and the Sparky Club for children. This would be a good base for exploring all the exciting tourist attractions of the Island.
Shanklin, with its old village area, has elegant Victorian villas, pretty public gardens and a superb beach. The picturesque thatched cottages have always drawn visitors here and don’t forget the famous chine.
A new toilet block has all the necessary facilities including those for disabled visitors, and baby and family rooms. Laundry. Playground for toddlers. WiFi.
