Alan Rogers Review
At this peaceful, family run, adults only park set in the midst of the lovely Vale Royal area of Cheshire, emphasis is placed on attention to detail. Seasonal and touring caravan pitches are arranged separately on 41 large, landscaped pitches, all with 16A electricity, gravel hardstandings, water and drainage. There are an additional four motorhome pitches with hardstandings and electricity. Only breathable groundsheets are permitted and tents are not accepted. Nearby are Delamere Forest with walking and mountain biking trails, Whitegate Way walking trail, Oulton Park Motor Racing Circuit, castles at Peckforton and Beeston and, within 12 miles, the city of Chester.
A well maintained site, which shows care and thoughtful finishing touches to the facilities, the lawns, hedges, flower beds and shrubs that enhance the landscaping. Open and sunny and with maturing and developing trees, there are pitches with shade if required. Located in farmland, in an area that has many opportunities for walking and is close to areas of water whose local names often include ‘mere’. Fishing opportunities, however, are mainly linked to existing clubs with few opportunities for licensed day fishing. Several National Trust sites are within easy reach, including Tatton Park, Speke Hall, and Quarry Bank Mill. Locally there is Blakemere Craft Centre with free parking and admission offering activities ranging from falconry to shopping. Further afield is the retail outlet complex at Cheshire Oaks.
