Alan Rogers Review
Kommandergårdens is on the island of Rømø on the Danish west coast. It is part of a hotel complex with indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and fitness centre. The site is next to the beach and behind the site is the huge Rømø ‘Play & Horse Land’ visitor attraction with free access for campers. The site has 616 pitches with 446 for touring units. There are 400 touring pitches with 10A electricity. In long lanes off gravel access roads, most pitches are on grass and vary in size from 60-100 sq.m. Some have sea views. The main road runs in front of the site but the noise is not too disturbing.
A delight for children, Play & Horse Land incorporates all sorts of activities in and on the water (including a pirate ship), adventure play areas and rides, visit the farm animals or ride on the Icelandic ponies. Kommandergårdens is in the centre of the Rømø Nature Reserve, a wonderful area for walking and cycling.
