What adds to the popularity of this site is its location, nestling between the slopes of the Knockalla Mountains and Ballymastocker Bay amidst the breathtaking scenery of County Donegal. The fact that the beach here has been named 'the second most beautiful beach in the world' is not surprising. Approached by an unclassified but short road, Knockalla’s elevated situation commands a panoramic view of the famed Bay, Lough Swilly, Inishowen Peninsula and Dunree Head.

A newer area, with excellent beach views, has been created for touring units. These all have electrical hook-ups and hardstanding, with space for an awning and room to park a car. There are two areas for tents, one of which has views of the mountains, and the other is near the outdoor play area, ideal if you have children. The family-run park is partly terraced, giving an attractive, orderly layout with reception, shop and restaurant in a central position. Specialities at the shop and café are homemade scones, apple cakes, jams, etc., with a takeaway or table service. Full Irish breakfasts are served.

The main toilet block is kept clean and fresh and can be heated. Showers (with token, €1). Laundry service operated by staff. Motorhome services. Gas available. Shop and café (both July/Aug, plus B.H. w/ends). Campers’ kitchen with hot water. Play area. TV/games room. No Mobile home accommodation for rent.

Directions to Knockalla Caravan & Camping Park

From Letterkenny take R245 to Rathmelton. Continue on R245 to Milford. Turn right on R246 to Kerrykeel. In village turn left towards Portsalon and at second crossroads turn right onto Portsalon/Knockalla coast road. Turn right at sign to park.
