Alan Rogers Review
Jumbo Camping is a modern, thoughtfully developed, terraced site in the northern outskirts of Budapest. The concrete and gravel access roads lead shortly to 55 terraced pitches of varying sizes, a little on the small size for large units, and some slightly sloping. Hardstanding for cars and caravan wheels, as well as large hardstandings for motorhomes. There is a steep incline to some pitches and use of the site’s 4x4 may be required. All pitches have 6A electricity (may require long leads) and there are nine caravan pitches with water and drainage. They are mostly divided by small hedges and the whole area is fenced.
Situated on a hillside 15 km. from Budapest centre, with attractive views of the Buda hills and with public transport to the city near, this is a pleasant and comfortable small site (despite the name) where you will receive a warm welcome. It is possible to park outside the short, fairly steep entrance which has a chain across. Reception, where you are given a comprehensive English language information sheet, doubles as a café/bar area.
Sanitary facilities are excellent, with large showers (communal changing). Washing machine, iron and cooking facilities on payment. Motorhome services. Café (where bread orders taken), milk and butter available. Attractive swimming pool (July/Aug). Playground with covered area for wet weather. Barbecue area. TV in reception. Free WiFi over site. English spoken and information sheet provided in English.
Site signed on roads to Budapest – 11 from Szentendre and 10 from Komarom. If approaching from Budapest use 11 (site sign appears quickly after sharp right bend; signs and entry are clearer on road 10). Can also approach via Györ on M1/E60 and Lake Balaton on M7/E71. Turn into site is quite acute and uphill.Link to campsite location map on google
