Alan Rogers Review
Open all year, James’ has attractive, park-like surroundings with mature trees and neat, short grass. However, edged by two main roads it is subject to some road noise. The park has over 40 pitches, some level and some on a slope, with informal siting giving either a view or shade. Electricity (6/10A) is available all over, although a long lead may be useful. Being so conveniently positioned, this is an ideal stopover site with easy access from the A483 Wrexham-Oswestry road.
The park is close to a number of man-made and natural attractions. Acrefair and the Pontcysyllte aquaduct are nearby. Further afield are Bala, Wrexham and Chester, with some pleasant spots along the River Dee, including refreshments by the river near Erbistock.
The heated toilet block offers roomy showers but would benefit from updating. Foyer contains tourist information and free freezer. Cleaning variable. En-suite facilities for disabled campers complete with special ‘clos-o-mat’ toilet! Motorcaravan services. Gas available. Payphone.
