Alan Rogers Review
On the banks of the Thames, not far from Henley-on-Thames, you will find the picturesque village of Hurley, where some buildings date back to 1086. Just outside the village is Hurley Riverside Park, which has been family-run since 1926 and provides facilities for holiday homes, touring units, tents and moorings for boats.
The touring area is flat and separated into smaller fields. With the pitches arranged around the outside of each field and the centre left free, the park has a spacious feel, even during busy periods. There are 200 touring pitches, 146 with 10-16A Europlug, including 13 fully serviced and some on long hardstandings, especially for American-style RVs. A camping field provides 62 tent pitches, including some with electric hook-ups. A very popular park, and there is also a large rally field.
Hire Caravan Holiday Homes are also available to rent with two units accepting a dog.
You can enjoy walks along the banks of the Thames or visit the various pubs and restaurants in the village for a good meal and a pint. Local pizza and takeaway outlets will deliver for free. A nature trail has been installed along the length of the touring park and there are large riverside picnic grounds alongside the Thames. Nearby Windsor has its famous castle or for younger members of the family, Windsor is the home of Legoland. At Henley, you can watch the regatta. Alternatively, you can just relax in the peaceful settings of the site.
