Alan Rogers Review

Huntly Caravan Park was opened in ’95 and its hardworking owners, the Ballantynes, are justly proud of their neat, well landscaped 15-acre site that is affiliated to the Caravan Club (non-members welcome). The 10 level grass and 50 hardstanding touring pitches are separated and numbered, with everyone shown to their pitch. Arranged in three bays with banks of heathers and flowering shrubs separating them, most pitches have 16A electrical hook-ups and 15 are fully serviced with water and waste water. Two bays have central play areas and all three have easy access to a toilet block, as has the camping area.

Campers are provided with a covered cooking shelter (with work tops) should the weather turn inclement. The park also has 40 privately owned caravan holiday homes (three for hire). An Activity Centre near the entrance contains two indoor safe play areas (one for up to two yrs old, the other up to height 1.37 m.) The area abounds with things to do, from forest trails to walk or cycle, a falconry centre, malt whisky distilleries and an all year Nordic ski track.

The three heated toilet blocks are well designed and maintained, with washbasins (in cubicles for ladies) and large showers. Each block also has a family shower room, dishwashing sinks and a room for disabled visitors. Laundry room. Milk and papers may be ordered at reception. WiFi (charged).
