Enjoying dramatic views of the Pic du Canigou (2,784 m), this rather special and peaceful natural site is only 1.5 km. from the centre of Vernet-les-Bains in the Pyrenees. The 62 touring pitches are on grass, with electricity (10A) and 45 fully serviced, are on a slight slope, part hedged and some terraced, with a separate tent field. Most pitches have some shade and there are 15 chalets and mobile homes to rent. Well situated for touring this area of the Pyrénées and with very comfortable amenities, including a small bar and restaurant.

The French owners Catherine and Oliver Mazet, and their daughter Marion, are very proud of the improvements they have made to the site, with much justification. Walks and trips to see Mont Canigou can be arranged. The nearby medieval, walled town of Ville Franche de Conflent, Grottes des Canalettes and Fort Libena, with its many steps, are well worth visiting.

Fully equipped toilet facilities and provision for babies and accessible facilities. Washing machine. Bread, main season. Bar/restaurant/takeaway with terrace (15/6-15/9). Play area with trampoline, basketball and table tennis. Free WiFi throughout.

Location

Following N116 towards Andorra. At Ville Franche, turn south, D116, for Vernet-les-Bains. After 5 km. keep right avoiding town. Turn right over bridge towards Sahorre. Immediately turn right (ave de Saturnin) for 1 km. through a residential area (rather winding). Watch carefully for signs.
