Alan Rogers Review of Hallsdown Farm Touring Park

Hallsdown Farm Touring Park is an adult only site that does not allow dogs or tents. It is a working sheep farm, lambing in spring. At other times of year there is always something to see, and our pet goats, pigs, ducks, alpaca and donkey will do their best to amuse you. If you would prefer to walk directly from the site a short walking distance will take you to the Wistlandpound Reservoir offering woodland walks, cycling and activity trails for all to enjoy. Trout fishing and bird watching are also available. It is also possible to access the National Trust Arlington Court estate offering walking for all abilities. The site has 30 touring pitches all with 16amp hook-up point 6 are grass, 19 hardstanding and 5 fully serviced pitches with 16amp EHU, individual tap, grey waste drain and individual toilet facility. The site is a member of the Tranquil Sites Group.

The site well located for exploring the North Devon coast, the famous villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by the cliff railway, and the Exmoor National Park. A five-minute drive will take you to the National Trust property of Arlington Court which houses the National Trust Carriage Museum. Other local attractions include the Lynton and Barnstaple Steam Railway, Exmoor Zoo at Bratton Fleming, and the spectacular North Devon beaches (nearest 5 miles). Visit the historic market towns of Barnstaple and South Molton boasting traditional Pannier Markets. There is a local farm shop within half a mile of the site.

Two toilet blocks consist of four individual heated rooms containing shower, WC and wash basin. The laundry has a washing machine, tumble drier and ironing board. Indoor dish washing area. Directions to Hallsdown Farm Touring Park

From North: Turn right off the A361 (South Molton - Barnstaple) onto A399 (Blackmoor Gate); in 11.6 miles (1-mile past B3358 junction) turn left signposted Loxhore. Site is on your right in 1.3 miles. From South: Via A39 from Barnstaple signposted Lynton at Blackmoor Gate Crossroads, turn right onto A399. After 0.2 miles, turn right signposted Loxhore. Site on right in 1.3 miles.
