Alan Rogers Review

This friendly site sits high in the hills to the east of the Basque town of Zarautz and has commanding views over the bay and the island of Getaria. Of the 540 pitches, 440 are for touring units, with 6A electricity; ten also have water and drainage. The remaining pitches are for tents and seasonal caravans. The grass pitches are of average size, shaded by mature trees and those on the perimeter have superb sea views. A new footpath leads down to the ruins of a once busy iron ore works and a small exhibition. This path continues along the coastline for 1.5 km. into Zarautz, but does involve a lot of steep steps.

The town of Zarautz offers a cultural programme in summer and the pedestrian promenade with modern sculptures is a good vantage point to enjoy the beach and watch the surfers.
