Alan Rogers Review

Golden Valley Caravan & Camping Park is located in the beautiful hamlet of Golden Valley, alongside the Cromford Canal in the Amber Valley area of the Peak District. The site is situated within 26 acres of historic woodland, once a thriving industrial centre for coal, iron foundries and canal workers on the adjacent canal. This secluded woodland site has just 40 pitches on hardstanding for motorcaravans and caravans. There are 30 with independent water supply, electricity connection (16A) and mains drainage. There are also two wooded areas for tents and a communal barbecue area.

A small fishing pond is available containing carp and it is visited by kingfishers, dragonflies and ducks. The pond is securely fenced to avoid access by young children. There is a great deal of interest in the area including the Midland Railway centre (reduced fares for campers) and many footpaths and cycle ways, including the Cromford canal towpath, and of course throughout the magnificent Peak District National Park.

A centrally positioned, heated utility block provides free showers and toilets, facilities for disabled visitors, a laundry room, heated jacuzzi, an indoor games room and a gym. Bar, café and takeaway (high season). Fishing pond. Woodland walks. Play area. Bouncy castle. Sand pit. Quad bikes, zip wire and zorbing (all high season). CCTV. Free WiFi.
