Alan Rogers Review
A family run, well maintained, 13-acre site located in countryside where the tin mine chimneys are a stark reminder of the past. The Owen family have worked hard in the past few years to upgrade the site. A number of mobile homes are to be found in the first part of the site amidst a mix of trees and shrubs. A further neatly grassed and sheltered area has serviced pitches on hardstanding. Two large, open fields with wonderful countryside views and Cornish stone walls have 138 touring pitches (all with 16A electricity) around the edges with a central open space. Reception, in the centre of the site, is part of the Owen’s home. Many campers return year after year.
A very pleasant bar open in peak periods has a popular patio area and serves food and takeaways. For children there is a super play area and large open spaces for running around. Altogether this makes a very good place to stay while visiting the tip of Cornwall. The beaches of Saint Agnes and Portreath are close and Saint Ives, Land’s End, Saint Michael’s Mount and the Lizard Peninsula are all within close driving distance. The site is located beside the coast-to-coast cycle route.
Smart, well equipped sanitary facilities are in a heated prefabricated unit. Facilities for disabled campers, ramped access. Laundry room. Motorhome services. Bar, restaurant, takeaway. Play area. WiFi over part of site (charged). Mobile homes to rent.
LocationHeading west on A30 take Redruth/Porthtowan exit, then take Porthtowan exit at roundabout and follow site signs. Link to campsite location map on google
