Alan Rogers Review

Rurally located, Glenearly has been tastefully developed from farmland into a touring and mobile home, all year park. There are 115 marked, open pitches (39 for touring), all with 16A Europlug and TV, most on hardstandings. Seasonal units use some pitches. Walls and shrubs divide the touring section from the caravan holiday homes (two to rent), with mature trees around the perimeter. There are attractive views over the hills and forest of Barhill and buzzards, yellow wagtails, woodpeckers and goldfinch are some of the birds that can be seen, along with the park’s own donkeys and ponies. This is a very well kept and well designed park, which would suit those looking for a quiet site in the country.

The large games room, converted from an old barn, is excellent – heated and with plenty of chairs and tables for parents to supervise the activities. A super play area suitable for all ages is conveniently situated behind the touring area. A ten minute stroll brings you into the small town of Dalbeattie. Just six miles from the park along the Solway coast is Kippford, a well known sailing centre from which you can walk the Jubilee Path (one mile) to Rockcliffe. Set in a bay, Rockcliffe has a small sandy beach, an excellent tea room and gift shop.
