Alan Rogers Review
This is Northern Ireland’s first Camping and Caravanning Club site and is now one of the country’s more popular sites. Facilities on the campsite itself are excellent and it has an orderly, neat and tidy appearance. Reception stands beside the entrance, with the sanitary block towards the rear. The 63 hardstanding pitches on level terrain all have electricity, plus water and waste hook-ups. There are no grass-only pitches and campers with tents should contact the site. The site is surrounded by trees and the rich vegetation of the country park, and the shrubs and trees around the pitches are now mature.
Within the boundaries of Delamont Country Park, it is an idyllic location for those seeking an ‘away from it all’ feel, yet wanting to be within easy reach of major attractions. The country park is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and commands from its highest point breathtaking vistas of Strangford Lough and surrounding countryside.
The single modern toilet block, with heating, has wash cubicles and a baby bath. En-suite facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry sinks, washing machine and dryer. Small shop area selling basics. Adventure playground and miniature railway in country park. Free admittance to country park for campers. WiFi on part of site (charged).
