Alan Rogers Review
Familiecamping De Otterberg is a well established site in the green heart of Drenthe. It has 330 pitches including 140 for tourers. The touring pitches are on well tended, grassy fields with shade from mature trees, the newer field to the front right being more open. All pitches have 6A electricity. Central on the site is an open-air pool which is heated to 30 degrees and has a jet stream, jacuzzi and a paddling pool with mushroom fountain. Visitors may bring their own horses to stay in the site’s stables. The site has a tranquil atmosphere and offers good facilities for wheelchair users.
For example, in high season the pool is reserved twice a day for disabled visitors only. Next to the pool complex is a welcoming bar/restaurant with a terrace where you can enjoy good, simple meals and where bingo and card evenings are organised. In high season there is an active animation team for youngsters and adults. Close to the site is the Dwingelerveld national park, ideal for walking and cycling.
Three toilet blocks, (1 main and 2 smaller) with toilets, washbasins (open style and in cabins) and preset hot showers (5 minutes free hot water). Bathroom with jacuzzi (charged). Family shower room. Baby room. Facilities for disabled visitors (with alarm). Washing machines and dryers. Shop with fresh bread (daily in season). Bar/restaurant with TV and snack bar. Pool with jet stream, jacuzzi and paddling pool. Games room. Internet point. Riding stables with new indoor hall. Sports field. Minigolf. Fishing. Entertainment team in high season.
