Everyone arriving in Sjælland will want to visit ‘wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen’ but, like all capital cities, it draws crowds and traffic to match. This sheltered site is near enough to be convenient but distant enough to afford peace and quiet (apart from the noise of nearby traffic), and a chance of relaxing after sightseeing. The 275 touring pitches are in two areas – in wooded glades taking about six units each (mostly used by tents) or on more open meadows where electricity is available. Nærum, a Danish Camping Union site, is only 15 km. from the city centre and very near a suburban railway that takes you there.

The long narrow site covers a large area alongside the ancient royal hunting forests, adjacent to the small railway line and the main road. Power lines do cross the site but there is lots of open grassy space. This is a handy site for Copenhagen but is also very near the interesting, friendly shopping complex of Rødøvre and the amusement park at Bakken. Note: Should you wish to drive into the city, there is a useful car park on the quayside. It is within easy walking distance of the centre and is located where the Kalvebød Brygge meets the Langebrø bridge (suitable for motorhomes and caravans).

Facilities

Two toilet blocks, the one in the meadow area has been refurbished and includes partitioned washbasins. Good block at the reception can be heated and also provides a laundry and a campers’ kitchen. Good facilities for babies and accessible sanitary facilities, Four family bathrooms (free). Motorhome services. Reception and shop for basics (closed 12.00-14.00 and 22.00-07.00). Clubroom and TV. Barbecue. Adventure playground.

Location

From E55/E47, take Nærum exit (no. 14), 15 km. north of Copenhagen. Turn right at first set of traffic lights (site signed), right on road 19 at second lights, cross bridge and turn left, following signs to site.
