Alan Rogers Review

The Caravan Club’s site at Crystal Palace in south London provides easy access to the city centre and its many attractions. The 89 pitches are pleasantly arranged in terraces adjacent to the ruins of the old Crystal Palace, its park and National Sports Centre, and are allocated by the site warden. It is surprisingly quiet given its location (with the exception of police sirens and over-flying aircraft). Advance booking is advisable all year round. Sixty pitches are on gravel hardstandings, useful for stays out of season. There are places for 71 caravans and motorcaravans, all with 16A electricity, and 18 for tents.

The Crystal Palace park is extensive and provides open spaces for strolls and picnics and plenty of activities for children. The Sports Centre has two swimming pools, tennis and squash courts and gym facilities, with national events in a variety of sports at certain times. There are two pitches at the site entrance for arrivals after 20.00.
