Alan Rogers Review

This attractive site is ideally located on the banks of the River Thames, only a few minutes’ walk from two riverside pubs with restaurants close to the shops and amenities of Chertsey. There are 150 pitches including 56 new serviced pitches with hardstanding and 16A electricity, and 15 super service pitches which have TV aerial points, water and waste drainage. Fishing is possible and canoes can be launched from the site. There are plenty of walks and cycle paths along the riverside

There has been extensive landscaping and the existing Thames creek has been extended to flow through the site with marshland areas to support the local wildlife environment. When possible, energy saving devices have been used. Squirrels, rabbits and ducks abound and trees and plants create a pretty site with views across the water and towards Chertsey bridge. Unfortunately there is some road and river noise and, depending on flight paths, aircraft noise. The rail station for London is at Chertsey or Weybridge.

Two older style sanitary blocks can be heated and include washbasins in cabins and facilities for disabled visitors. Hairdryers. Laundry. Motorcaravan services. Essentials in reception (shop opposite site). Snack van selling burgers and breakfast (Fri.-Sun). Recreation hall. Play area on bark. Fishing (adults £1.70, NRA licence needed). Short dog walk areas. Caravan storage. Torches are necessary. WiFi throughout (charged).

Suggested: from M25 use exit 11. Turn left at roundabout on A317 towards Shepperton and continue to second set of traffic lights. Turn right then watching for green Club camp sign, turn left just before Chertsey bridge; the opening is narrow.
