Chertsey Camping & Caravanning Club site is ideally located on the banks of the River Thames, only a few minutes’ walk from two riverside pubs and close to the shops and amenities of Chertsey. Fishing is possible and canoes can be launched from the site. There are plenty of walks and cycle paths along the riverside. Squirrels, rabbits and ducks abound with trees and plants creating a pretty site with views across the water and towards Chertsey bridge. Unfortunately there is some road and river noise and, depending on flight paths, aircraft noise. The rail station for London is at Chertsey or Weybridge. The site is outside the Congestion Zone and Low emission Zone. There are 150 pitches including 56 serviced pitches with hardstanding and 16A electricity, plus 15 super service pitches which have TV aerial points, water and waste drainage.
Non-members are welcome and may join on site. Please speak to site staff for details and to check pitch availability before arrival.
There has been extensive landscaping and the existing Thames creek has been extended to flow through the site with marshland areas to support the local wildlife environment. When possible, energy saving devices have been used. This lovely riverside site is an oasis in the suburbs. It has a really rural feel yet is just a short train ride to London from the Weybridge station. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting some of the country’s best-loved theme parks (Lego Land, Thorpe Park and Chessington), as well as the world-famous Kew, Wisely and Savill gardens. Hampton Court and Chelsea flower shows are also within easy reach from here.
