Alan Rogers Review
Château de Boisson is a quiet, welcoming, high quality family site within easy reach of the Cévennes, Ardèche and Provence. The site is hilly and the 178 pitches, with 87 for touring, are on two levels. They are separated by neat hedges and a variety of trees providing some shade. All have 6/10A electricity. Twenty-eight are fully serviced and seven have private bathrooms. Rock pegs are essential. The large attractive swimming pools, one indoor (heated all season) with paddling pool and toboggan, are in a sunny location at the top of the site, close to the château. Gas and electric barbecues only. Dogs are not accepted in July and August.
Reception at the entrance is light and cool, built from the stone in the local style. The château, at the top of the site, lies in the small medieval village of Boisson. The restaurant is cool and elegant and has tables outside on the shady terrace. In low season, there are bridge tournaments and painting classes. In July and August, there are a few competitions and activities for younger children. Apartments in the château are available to rent.
