Alan Rogers Review
Carnon Down was acquired by the Caravan and Motorhome Club in 2021. The founder and former owner, Simon Vallance, started this site from just a field. Looking at the site today, you will find that hard to believe. This site is beautifully landscaped with areas are separated by well-trimmed box hedging, low natural stone walls and a variety of well-tended trees. This is a large site but spread over twenty acres and into different areas, it never seems crowded. Reception is shared with a very good, well-stocked shop, information centre and refreshment area which has a lovely outside area with tables and chairs overlooking the park. There is an excellent children’s play area, and around the site, there are several dishwashing areas. The three facilities blocks are modern, spacious, with en-suite shower rooms, bathrooms, baby and toddler washrooms; all have easy level access, and the whole site is wheelchair friendly. Integrated into these two of these blocks are well-equipped laundry room’s with token-operated washers and dryers,
The location of Carnon Down is perfect for visiting Truro, just four miles away with its supermarkets, shops and spectacular Cathedral. Truro is a central location that puts many of Cornwall's beautiful beaches and gardens within easy reach either by car, bus or public transport and a bus stop is located just 300 meters from the site entrance. Please note you will need to book this site well in advance to be assured of a pitch during the summer months.
