Alan Rogers Review
Family run for over 55 years, Carnevas Holiday Park is an attractive, well maintained site close to the beaches and coastal paths. Of the 195 pitches, 95 have 10A electricity connections; they are set out on grass, some backing on to low walls, others positioned against hedges or in open fields. From most pitches there are wide ranging views over the surrounding countryside. With its friendly reception, homely bar with terrace serving snacks and takeaway dishes, the site is an ideal place to relax inbetween exploring the region by car or nipping into Padstow to try out its pasty shops and seafood restaurants.
No location in Cornwall is far from the coast with its working harbours, and with cows and sheep grazing in lush pastures it comes as no surprise that freshly caught fish, dairy produce and good quality meat are to be found in abundance. If you don't want to sit round the barbecue on site, there is a vast choice of good restaurants. Cornwall has a great deal to offer the tourist, above and beyond its Cornish pasties and cream teas; however, careful planning of any holiday here will be well rewarded.
Leave A30 at Queens Junction and head north on A39 (Wadebridge) as far as Winnards Perch roundabout, then left onto B3274 towards Padstow. After 2 miles take 2nd left towards St Merryn. Before St Merryn follow signs for Porthcothen Bay (narrow road). After 2 miles turn right at site sign opposite The Tredrea Inn.
