Alan Rogers Review
This is a fairly peaceful, extensive campsite in a natural woodland setting, 4 km. from a large sandy beach. Following on from reception is a section of privately owned mobile homes, then an area of preserved woodland which separates the touring area. This has 80 individual, touring pitches on sandy grass which can be slightly undulating. All pitches have shade and electricity hook-ups (6A) and most are separated by hedges and bushes. There are also 67 wooden camping lodges and a clearing in the woodland is reserved for tents. The site and the area are well suited to disabled visitors. An outdoor pool complex with sauna and Hammam is open all season.
The emphasis here is on nature and, useful for cyclists or backpackers, Camp Sherpa comprises eight two-berth wooden tents. A modern sanitary unit is central in the touring area, with a second smaller unit in the mobile home area, useful when walking between your pitch and the bar/brasserie. Berck-Plage is only 4 km. and has a magnificent sandy beach and promenade with extensive free parking areas. There is a market in Rang-du-Fliers on Thursdays. Also close by is Le Parc de Bagatelle, the largest amusement park in northern France. In early April a kite festival is held on the beach at Berck.
Facilities with open and cubicle washbasins and hot showers. Laundry facilities. Good facilities for disabled persons, small children and babies. Note: water for toilets is from a borehole, and has a slight brownish colour. Motorcaravan services (full service area nearby). Bar/brasserie (30/3-20/10, open to public). Outdoor pool complex, sauna and Hammam (4/4-1/11). Activities and dancing in July/Aug. Multisports court. Playgrounds. Woodland area with football field, volleyball, fitness trail, course for quads and all-terrain bikes, and a fishing lake.
