Alan Rogers Review
Situated just off the A257 Sandwich road, about 1.5 miles from the centre of Canterbury, this site is an ideal base for exploring Canterbury and the north Kent coast, as well as being a good stopover to and from the Dover ferries and the Folkestone Channel Tunnel terminal. There are 200 pitches, 120 with 16A electric hook-ups and, except at the very height of the season, you are likely to find a pitch although not necessarily with electricity. Most of the pitches are on well kept grass with hundreds of saplings planted but there are also 65 pitches with hardstanding.
Some pitches do slope so blocks are advised. A good sized overnight area for late arrivals can be reached even when the barriers are down. The site is within 3 miles of Howletts Zoo. Although the busy A257 is close, there is minimal noise from the traffic. Note: power lines cross the site.
Two recently refurbished sanitary blocks, the main one with a laundry room, family room and facilities for disabled visitors. Motorhome services. Reception stocks a small range of essential foods, milk and gas. Excellent tourist information room. Play area with equipment on bark chippings. Bicycle hire. Dog walk. WiFi throughout (charged).

From the A2 take exit for Canterbury and follow signs for Sandwich (A257). Pass military barracks and turn right into Bekesbourne Lane opposite golf course. Do not use sat nav (narrow approach lanes).
