Alan Rogers Review

Geisenheim is in a lovely position on the north bank of the Rhine and within walking distance of the picturesque small town of Rüdesheim. There are 100 slightly sloping touring pitches each with 16A electricity, plus some attractive seasonal pitches. The touring pitches are on the part of the site nearest the river and are on well maintained grass. Some have shade and some are marked out by hedges. There are four special hardstandings for long, heavy motorcaravans, but these must be booked in advance. A level pedestrian/cycle path runs alongside the river in both directions and there are many small picturesque villages in the area to visit.

This part of the Rhine is surrounded by vineyards and there are ample opportunities to sample the excellent local wines. Take a walk on the banks of the river Rhine, make a boat-trip or take the cable car up to the Germania statue in Rüdesheim and do not forget to taste the famous Rheingauer Riesling. English is spoken in reception. Please note that limitations for motorhomes are 8 m. and 6 tons. If visiting with a motorcaravan you are advised to contact the site in advance. Tall riverside trees may make satellite reception difficult.

Toilet block with showers and washbasins in cubicles. Laundry. Motorcaravan services. Small shop. Separately run restaurant (1/3-31/10). Fishing adjacent. WiFi throughout (charged).

Geisenheim is on the B42 north bank of the Rhine about 21 km. west of Wiesbaden. There is also a ferry from Bingen to Rüdesheim.
