Alan Rogers Review of Camping Waldhort
This is a satisfactory site for night halts or for visits to Basel. Although there are almost twice as many static caravan pitches as spaces for touring units, this site, on the edge of a residential district, is within easy reach of the city by tram. It is flat, with 75 level pitches for touring with access from the tarmac road. The grass pitches may become muddy in very wet weather but there are gravel hardstandings for motorhomes. All pitches have 10A electricity and young trees give some shade. Owned and run by the Camping and Caravanning Club of Basel, there is usually space available.
An extra, separate camping area has been added behind the tennis club which has pleasant pitches and its own modern sanitary facilities.
Facilities at Camping Waldhort
The three good quality, fully equipped sanitary blocks include facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Washing machine and dryer. Kitchen with gas rings. Freezer for ice packs. Motorhome services. Small shop with terrace for drinks, snacks and takeaway (all season). Outdoor swimming and paddling pool (1/5-30/9). Indoor pool (1/6-31/8). Play area with two small pools. No charcoal barbecues. WiFi (free).
Directions to Camping Waldhort
Take Basel-Delémont motorway spur, exit for Reinach-Nord and follow site signs. Do not use the Reinach-Sud exit.
