Alan Rogers Review
Sovata has been a popular resort from the early 19th century. Five lovely lakes surround the town all with reputed curative powers. The most popular is the salt water Lacu Usru for its supposed ability to cure infertility. It is impossible to sink in this lake with 150 grams of salt per litre. A 40 cm. thick layer of fresh water covers the lake and maintains warm temperatures year round. This quiet, small family run campsite is just 2 km. from Lacu Ursu and is within walking distance of the small town centre where there are shops, cash exchange facilities and restaurants. There are 30 level pitches with some shade and all with 6A electricity.
In northern Transylvania you are surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of places to visit, from the salt mine at Praid to the renowned potteries selling their green, brown and cobalt blue wares, on the road south towards Odorheiu Secuiesc.
