Alan Rogers Review
Al Lago is a small, family run site with a great atmosphere and very pleasant amenities nestling between a sheer rock face, the lake and the mountains on the far side of the lake. The owners clever touch is everywhere and her friendly nature extends to lending you a bicycle to pop into town. Her cooking is the talk of the 30 pitches here and many of the ten pitches for caravans and motorcaravans are taken by regular annual visitors. A prior call is essential to check availability. On the lakeside many pitches have great views and most are shaded by mature trees. All have 16A electricity. All facilities are open the whole season.
The restaurant has very tasteful décor and two patios, one with lake views. The feel here is that of a small family or club, and it is aimed campers who appreciate good taste and tranquillity. It is very pleasant to walk on the lakeside beach or sit quietly in the library in the cool of the colourful restaurant/bar basement. For the more energetic there are some fabulous treks in the area where the local peaks can be conquered before dinner. Guests are issued with a key to the sanitary block to ensure that facilities remain in pristine condition.
One modern sanitary block has free hot water throughout. Excellent facilities for disabled campers. Washing machine. Motorcaravan services. Restaurant with superb Italian traditional cooking. Ice cream bar with terrace. Takeaway. Fishing (permit required). Library and very pretty basement for relaxation, lecture area and a wine store.
