This is a small, friendly site located near the southern exit of the Gran San Bernardo tunnel. The views from the site are really very pleasant with green hills and towering peaks all around. There is a distinct Italian feel about it and the young English-speaking owners, Silvia and Roberto, are most welcoming and helpful. The site sits on two sides of a quiet road and steady improvements are being made. There are 95 pitches, with 45 of mixed size for touring units, plus a special overnight area for motorhomes, opposite the main gate. All have electricity (6A Europlug) with drainage and water taps nearby. Gas connections are also available. Some have shade and most are on terraces or gentle slopes. Two fully equipped, air-conditioned mobile homes are available to rent.
The main part has most of the facilities including a pretty building with a bar/restaurant and terrace. The menu is traditional and there is a happy atmosphere here stimulated by the owners. The Village of Etroubles, which offers all the usual amenities, is a typical village in the Aosta Valley and in the old centre is an open-air museum where you can admire the monuments of 21 international artists, which is well worth a visit. Pricing is very reasonable and will attract those looking for a refreshing mountain break as well as those taking a night stop before or after the Grand St. Bernard Pass or Tunnel. Long units are advised to check availability in advance.
