Alan Rogers Review
In the heart of the Bergerac region, Pomport Beach is a recently much improved site now boasting 130 pitches, of which 85 are for touring, all with electricity (10A) and a shared water supply. The pitches have been levelled and new grass sown; young hedges and trees do not as yet offer much shade. Visitors can enjoy the heated pool or bathe in the lake which has a sandy beach and is overlooked by the restaurant. This site is quiet and peaceful but becomes more lively in peak season, when children’s entertainment takes place, and the tennis courts, minigolf and multisports court come into their own.
Conveniently close to Bergerac airport, and in the Montbazillac wine growing area, a stop at Pomport Beach is a must for wine lovers. Dozens of vineyards invite aficionados to wander, and winegrowers on the Wine Route will be happy to share their passion for the region with you. There is a wealth of cultural and historic attractions to suit all interests and ages, with no less than seven chateaux, and numerous museums, including the museum of the town of Bergerac and the Napoleon museum. Off-site attractions for children include farms, zoos and labyrinths.
