Alan Rogers Review

Calabria was immortalised in the drawings of Edward Lear who, travelling on a donkey in 1847, was transfixed by the landscape. Camping Pineta di Sibari is on the Ionian Sea coast and provides 500 touring pitches, all with electricity (4-6A), under pine and eucalyptus trees. Most are of a good size and many have sea views. The large sandy beach stretches for miles in both directions and the backdrop is the mountains of the Pollino National Park. This is a rural area and is away from the industrial areas found further south along this coast. Karin Rudolph runs a happy site where peace and quiet are prime features.

This is a good site for a long stay in low season or for family holidays in the summer months, but expect to find the site very busy then as it is very popular with German and Italian campers.
