Alan Rogers Review
Mazurski Eden is in the centre of the beautiful Mazurian Lake District, surrounded by the interesting flora and fauna of the Piska forest. It is a quite amazing place approached by a 1.5 km. sand road, easily negotiable by caravans, with the entrance flanked by tall pine posts of carved figures. Wood carvings abound with statues by the water’s edge, on buildings and inside the hotel. The camping area, with room for 100 units, is grass on sand under tall trees which serve to determine the pitches, with electrical connection boxes topped with lamps for night illumination.
A wealth of activities includes organised photographic safaris, canoeing and hiking trips, cycle excursions and visits to the Kadzidlowo nature reserve with its wolves, bison, beavers and other wildlife. Sailing and other watersports are arranged and even fishing under the ice in winter. Parties, picnics and barbecues are organised with dancing and folk bands. Various national days are noted, with open air workshops for painters and sculptors and church festivals are celebrated in a family atmosphere. The manager has a great interest in the social history of the ancient people of this area and this is reflected in the entertainment offered to group conferences being held in the hotel, to which campers are also invited.
