Alan Rogers Review
Within a few minutes walk of the centre of the lively town of Montech, this campsite lies alongside the Canal du Midi, midway between the Tarn and Garonne rivers. In a perennially popular holiday region it offers a good base for family holidays as well as being a useful location for a short break for campers touring France’s south west. The level canal paths make for easy walking and cycling into both the town and surrounding countryside, whilst the more energetic can discover the dramatic hills further afield, and the forest of Agre.
Close to the site, the Canal du Midi joins the Canal de Garonne, and there are many opportunities for fishing and boating (with permits). To the north, the Tarn and Aveyron flow into the Garonne. There is a great deal to explore, not least the towns of Montauban, Castelarrasin and Moissac, which are all within easy reach, with the imposing city of Toulouse close at hand.
The usual sanitary facilities are provided. Fresh bread and confectionery. Bar and seasonal snack bar. Swimming and paddling pools. Games/TV room. Bicycle hire. Playground. Fishing permits. Free WiFi in reception area.
