Camping Padimadour is a small friendly, family-run campsite in beautiful Quercy countryside, not far from the ancient town of Rocamadour in the Vallée de la Dordogne. There are 42 large, grassy and slightly sloping pitches for caravans, campervans and tents, 38 with electricity and 4 offering full services. There is some shade from mature trees. They also offer mobile home and lodge tent rentals. The site has undergone extensive refurbishment and has a modern toilet block, a small bar/snack bar and a games room. An attractive new swimming pool is overlooked by the bar. The site is aimed at couples and families with pre-teen children and family entertainment is provided in July and August.
This region is popular for all manner of adventure sports – including rock climbing, potholing, canyoning and mountain biking. The nearby town of Gramat is a noted riding centre. For those seeking a more relaxed holiday, a visit to Rocamadour is a must. This unique town is an important pilgrimage destination, thanks to the wooden Black Madonna, said to have been carved by Saint Amator (Saint Amadour) and housed in the beautiful church of Notre Dame.
